If recent headlines are any indication, the adoption of these technologies by retailers will accelerate.Walmart is also using technology to automate its supply chain. The company unveiled “Eden” in 2018, a food safety inspection technology that automatically screens a product for defects. Walmart applied for a series of farming-related patents in March 2018, which include machine vision and drone technology designed to monitor crop damage and identify corrective action.
